Meet Daniel Joseph Franco

Licenced Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Daniel Joseph Franco is a licensed clinician in New York. He attended Syracuse University for a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience and graduated summa cum laude With departmental honors. He received his graduate degree from the Silberman School of CUNY, graduating with the Rebecca Donovan Award for Exemplary Research and Writing. Daniel works with many clients, from children and adults to parents and executives.

His clinical focus is helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, academic and career, relationship, trauma, and addiction issues. Daniel is easy to talk to. He is solution-focused, with the “spirit” of empowerment, cognitive clarity, and Motivational Interviewing. He begins with learning about you and your treatment goals. He will examine treatment options, including short- and long-term goals, and create a customized plan.

Daniel’s clinical training and experience range from hospital to private practice and school settings. He completed his clinical training at NYC Health and Hospitals – Bellevue Hospital Center, specializing in addiction issues. Daniel received post-graduate training as an accredited alcohol and substance abuse specialist. This intensive training gives him a unique understanding of facilitating exploration, helping his clients decrease symptoms, find healthier coping skills, solutions, and improve overall well-being. Daniel helps his clients focus on positive coping skills, resilience, emphasizing the connection of body and mind.

Along with recommendations toward improving lifestyle and physical health, his approach to psychotherapy is integrative, utilizing tools from various modalities, including Cognitive behavioral Therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy, Acceptance, and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Daniel addresses topics with kindness, understanding, compassion, and sincerity. His  gentleness create a safe and supportive therapy atmosphere.  He will help you reach your objectives and make changes to live a life you love.

Daniel is a member of the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, American Psychological Association, Connecticut Psychological Association, and National Association of Social Workers.
