Meet Bonnie Pollak, PhD

Couple and Family Therapist

Dr. Bonnie Pollack is a doctoral psychologist with the most advanced clinical and academic qualifications. Her academic credentials include a master’s and doctorate from New York University and a law degree with honors from Brooklyn Law. She is also the recipient of the Carswell Scholarship, a prestigious award that recognizes outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and a strong commitment to service and intellectual engagement.

Dr. Pollacks is also an adjunct professor at New York University and Columbia University, teaching clinical work to graduate-level students. Her commitment to education and clinical training enables her to better understand each client’s unique challenges and improve their overall quality of life.

Dr. Pollack has clinical experience administering evidence-based treatments and neurocognitive assessments to adolescents, adults, couples, parents, and executives. Her area of expertise is assisting individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, family issues, couple issues, life transitions, and career challenges. Dr. Pollack utilizes evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques. She also specializes in emotion-focused therapy for couples who are experiencing communication difficulties, feelings of unappreciation, criticism, infidelity, and more.

Prior to her career as a psychologist, she practiced as an attorney. This intensive clinical training and her previous experience give her a unique perspective on clinical issues, workplace issues, and life transitions.

Dr. Pollack is compassionate. Her warmth, patience, and clinical expertise create a healing environment where clients can explore complex issues in a caring, secure, and growth-promoting setting. She considers the therapist-client relationship to be the foundation of the therapeutic process and sees the work as a partnership based on trust and respect. She focused on her clients’ strengths while exploring new perspectives and developing new skills to help them overcome obstacles, gain self-awareness, and become their own therapists.
