Meet Dr. Brant Anderson

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Brant Anderson is a post-doctoral clinical psychologist the highest level of clinical and academic training. His training includes a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the Union Institute and University, a doctorate in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and a law degree from the University of Alabama. Dr. Anderson’s commitment to education and clinical training enables him to better understand each client’s unique struggles and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Anderson has over two decades of clinical experience providing evidence-based treatments and neurocognitive assessments from adolescents, adults, and parents to executives. His expertise involves helping individuals and families struggling with life circumstances, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger, and career issues. Dr. Anderson utilizes evidence-based methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy; acceptance and commitment therapy; mindfulness; and psychodynamic techniques. In addition, Dr. Anderson provides exposure and response-prevention treatment for individuals who experience OCD and other anxiety symptoms.

Prior to his career as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Anderson served as a vice president and general counsel for a public company. His experience in the legal and corporate worlds has given him a unique understanding of the challenges businesspeople and their families face. As a psychologist, he developed a pragmatic approach to financial and workplace issues, life transitions, and clinical issues.

Dr. Anderson comes from a place of compassion. His warmth, patience, and clinical expertise foster a healing environment where clients can explore complex issues in a caring, secure, and growth-enhancing atmosphere. Dr. Anderson views the relationship between the therapist and the patient as the foundational core of the therapeutic process. He views the work as a partnership built on trust and respect. He draws on clients’ strengths while exploring new perspectives and developing new skills to work through challenges, increase self-awareness, and become their own therapist.

He is an active member of the American Psychological Association, the Connecticut Psychological Association, and the International OCD foundation.
