Medina Cecunjanin is a Licensed Therapist with a wide range of clinical experience. She graduated with honors from Smith College, one of the country’s top programs. Medina has extensive experience working with children, college-age and their families who are struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, social anxiety, and other behaviorally-based issues. Medina has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Child-Parent Therapy, Play and art therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Mindfulness-based therapies.
Medina completed her clinical training at Smith College, College Counseling Services, and Campus School of Smith College. Working within the college and school systems, she supervised psychology students, created innovative programming and social skills groups, fostered relationships between families and schools, and facilitated student treatment programs.
Medina gets to the heart of why clients are struggling in a compassionate and non-judgmental environment. From the first meeting, clients address issues that get in the way and develop tools to decrease symptoms.
Medina considers parents as the experts on their children. She believes that parental knowledge and support are critical for treatment success. During this critical developmental period, she understands the complexities of self-worth issues, academics, stress, and family expectations. Such stressors can lead to anxiety and depression, affecting the entire family. She is skilled at identifying the various factors that help and hold individuals back. She provides a comprehensive perspective on treatment, progress, and challenges. Medina helps children and their families understand their difficulties, identify their strengths and harness their full potential.
Her conviction is that positive relationships built on mutual respect, understanding, and trust have the power to heal. She provides in-person sessions both at the office and at home. Her clients often experience a reduction of symptoms early on in treatment.

At Greenwich Psychology Group, our symptom checker helps clients track their symptoms of depression or anxiety. Taking the assessment doesn't provide a formal diagnosis, but it can help you determine what next steps you may need to take. The evaluation uses a series of questions to review the feelings and symptoms you've experienced over the past two weeks. The results will help you distinguish if professional help is the best next step.
